Day 1: Maun to Okavango Delta
On arrival in Maun Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative of African Vacation Safaris and transfer to the Mokoro Station in Morutsha either by a 4×4 vehicle, it is a journey of approximately 1 hour.
At the Mokoro Station you will meet a professional guide, have a short briefing about your trip and begin your journey by Mokoro, heading to your lodge which is a journey of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Traveling by a Mokoro is undeniably the best way to explore the Okavango Delta, a vast inland delta in Botswana. When you arrive at the island and the camp, the crew will set a table for you to enjoy your lunch while they are busy setting up a camp.
Later, embark on a nature walk in which you will have the opportunity to track game and get up close with the unique ecosystem, hear birds singing which is spectacular and get a much more intense experience of the Okavango Delta, particularly its flora and fauna that might go unnoticed on a game drive or Mokoro. Later in the evening you will return to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

You will wake up early, enjoy breakfast and go for an exciting Mokoro Safari, inspired by native local people who used traditional wooden mokoros as a form of transport, a modern version of this dugout canoe. This experience is a relaxing way to explore the reed-lined waterways and discover different creatures that you wouldn’t typically see from a vehicle or on foot.
The Mokoro has become the iconic symbol of the Delta, offering you an opportunity to fully experience the sounds and sights of nature without running the risk of scaring off animals with a motor and is highly recommended for photographers. Keep an eye out for tiny brightly colored frogs, herds of elephants, Lechwe or rare Sitatunga feeding by the water and amazing variety of birdlife.
Return to the camp for lunch and in the afternoon, you will go for a guided walk or for a swim depending on the season and time of the year. Later in the evening you will return to camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, then depart on your last game walk also known as guided walking safaris in Okavango Delta, breath in the scent of crushed of wild grasses and feel your senses come alive.
Discover the complexities of tracking wildlife, how every bent blade of grass and imprint in the soil has a meaning, observe how your guide interprets the signs and sounds of the bush. Smell and taste wild herds, as your guide explains their traditional uses, explore the small miracles of the bush, from the magnificent tapestry of a spider’s web to the microscopic world of the dung beetle.
You will return to the camp where you will enjoy lunch while the staff takes down the camp, travel back to the Mokoro Station for your motor boat pick up or 4×4 vehicle and return back to Maun Airport to catch your flight back home to your next destination.
