Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival and transfer Tsavo West National Park.
On the 1st day of your safari, you will be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi or from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris and then be briefed about the 14 days best of Kenya safari. After the briefing you will head to Tsavo West national park which is a less 5 hrs. You will drive with the charming views of the beautiful landscapes along the way; upon your arrival you will have short game viewing en-route to your camp. You will check in and have lunch. In the afternoon you will go for game drive Tsavo West offers some of the most magnificent game viewing in the world and attractions include elephant, rhino, lions, cheetah, leopards, Buffalos, diverse plant and bird species. You will explore Mzima springs area to spot a haven for hippos, crocodiles and variety of the bird species. The scenic beauty of the surrounding hills and the tranquil atmosphere of the springs make for a perfect afternoon game drive experience. After the experience you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Full day in Tsavo West national park.
On the 2nd day of the safari; it is another day of exploring Tsavo west national park will begin with breakfast served at your lodge before you head out into the savannah of the national park in search of the various wildlife species which include elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, buffalos, impalas, zebras, and different bird species. During the experience you will visit Ngulia rhino sanctuary to spot the large numbers of the rhinos that are such rewarding and gorgeous.
After the morning game drive you will be transferred back to your lodge and have lunch. After lunch you will go for a second in the park during your afternoon game drive, you will explore around the national park as you catch sightings of wildlife species roaming and grazing in their natural habitat. Optional you can go for the guided nature walks that offer a unique and immersive experience that allows you to explore the park’s diverse landscapes and ecosystems on foot led by the experienced guides. These walks offer you the opportunities to spot a variety of wildlife including bird species, reptiles, and smaller reptiles. After the experience you will return to your lodge for dinner and to spend the night as the nights before at.
Day 3: Transfer from Tsavo West National Park for afternoon game drive in Tsavo East National Park.
On the 3rd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast check out with game drive. You will arrive Tsavo East with game viewing en-route proceeding to your lodge, then check in and be served with lunch. After lunch you will be transferred to the park for the afternoon game drive. During the afternoon game drive you will explore Aruba Dam that is known for its high concentration of wildlife, including elephnats, lions, antelopes that offers you the perfect safari experience or you can explore the Lugard falls where the later afternoon sun enhances the park’s stunning scenery and more wildlife viewing opportunities to spot the hippos, crocodiles and a variety of bird species. Day 4: Transfer to Amboseli National Park.
On the 4th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and head to Amboseli National Park which is approximately 4 hour drive with the charming views along the way. And once you arrive the park you will be transferred to your lodge and then check in have lunch. After lunch you will be meet your safari guide and go for afternoon game drive. During the afternoon game drive, you will be offered with the panoramic views of the park’s vast plains and wildlife including the lions, rhinos, buffaloes, elephnats, and watching various bird species. Day 5: Full Day Amboseli National Park.
On the 5th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your hearty breakfast. After breakfast, you will meet your safari guide and then head to the park for the full day experience. On this day, proceed for an early morning game in search of its popular residents like the well-known predators and their opponents like the Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, and Hippo with a view of Mt Kilimanjaro.
In the afternoon you will go for the afternoon game drive; for more wildlife viewing in the park that’s where you will spot more wildlife that you missed during the morning game drive. Optional you will go for Maasai village tours this is a unique cultural experience, that allows the visitors to immerse themselves in the traditional way of life of the Maasai people that can be led by the knowledgeable guides these tours take you to a local Maasai village, where you can learn about the community’s customs, traditions, and daily life including their unique crafts, livestock. Day 6: Transfer to Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
On the 6th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your hearty breakfast. After you will check out from your lodge to Ol Pejeta conservancy. You will have the scenic drive with the perfect views along the way, the journey takes you approximately 7hr and 44 minutes to 8 hours you will have the enroute lunch, and this is where you will pass through Nairobi. And after lunch you will drive until you reach Ol Pejeta Conservancy; on arrival you will have enroute game drive in the plains of the conservancy, you will enjoy views of the wide open grass plains with the famous Mt. Kenya. The plains of Ol Pejeta are dotted with scattered acacia bush host various wildlife including the big five mammals that is lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and rhinos. And among many others. Later, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Full day in Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
On the 7th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your hearty breakfast. Then you will meet your safari guide and then head to the conservancy and go for the morning game drive, You will witness the big five animals in Ol Pejeta Conservancy such as the lions, buffaloes, rhinos, leopard and elephnats, among other big cats. Get a chance to interact with Baraka the blind rhino among other species residing in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. After the morning game drive you will be transferred to your lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will embark in the conservancy for afternoon experience where you will go for a game drive in the plains of the conservancy with the backdrop of snow peaks of Mount Kenya. As well you will explore the on-site chimpanzee sanctuary this is where you are going to learn about conservation efforts and visit the memorial park, which honors those who have contributed to conservation. Ol Pejeta Conservancy is prominent for being a sanctuary for black rhinos in East Africa, during the game drive you will have a chance to come close to rhinos, hyena, buffaloes, cheetah, and elephants among others. After the experience you return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Transfer to Samburu national reserve.
On the 8th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your hearty breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and meet your safari guide and begin your journey to Samburu national reserve that takes you approximately 2 hours and a half to three hours. And once you arrive you will check in your lodge and check in to your lodge and be served with lunch. After lunch you will embark to the reserve for the afternoon game drive.
This is where you will spot the various animal species attacking their prey when the prey is resting. And besides that you will be able to spot various animal species like the warthogs, lions, buffaloes, elephants, olive baboons, waterbucks, and among others minus forgetting the bird species. Day 9: Full day in Samburu national reserve.
On the 9th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and be served with a hearty breakfast. After breakfast you will meet your safari guide and then later go for the reserve for the full day experience. This is where you will spot the reserve’s magnificent wildlife with the incredible special five or rare species like reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebras, Somali ostrich, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk and among many others, like the big cats including cheetahs, African leopard and lions and among others. You will as well go for the optional cultural tours to interact with the Samburu people this is where you are going to interact and visit their homes and among others. After the experience you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 10: Transfer to Lake Nakuru national park.
On the 10th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your hearty breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and transfer to Lake Nakuru national park; exit the reserve and head on a drive back to Lake Nakuru National Park a birder’s haven and a rhino sanctuary. The drive distance from Samburu national reserve to Lake Nakuru national reserve is approximately 5 hours. You will arrive in the park in time for lunch at your lodge, in the afternoon you will go for a game drive on which you will watch a variety of animals including rhinos, giraffes, leopards and large numbers of flamingoes on the shores of Lake Nakuru. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 11: Transfer to Lake Naivasha.
On the 11th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and then transfer to Lake Naivasha that takes you about 2 hours. And once you arrive you will check in your lodge and then be served with lunch. Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake that was designated as a bird sanctuary in 1967. It also sustains the pastoral industries of wine and flowers. You will observe local birds on your boat cruise to Lake Naivasha, including black crakes, herons, fish eagles, ospreys, and lily-trotters. Naivasha is one of the world’s most imposing and magnificent lakes, dominated by the shadow of Mt. Longonot. After the boat cruise you will return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 12: Transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve.
On the 12th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy a hearty breakfast. After breakfast, check out from your lodge and then transfer to Maasai Mara national park that takes you about 4 hours’ drive. And once you arrive in the reserve you will check in your lodge and then be served with the lunch. After lunch you will meet your safari guide and then go for the afternoon game drive experience. During the experience that’s when you will spot diverse wildlife including the big five mammals that includes the lions, buffaloes, rhinos, leopards, and elephants and then the various bird species. After the experience you will be served with dinner relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 13: Full day in Maasai Mara national reserve.
On the 13th day you will wake up early in the morning and enjoy hearty breakfast. After the breakfast you will meet your safari guide and go for the full day’s safari experience. During the safari you will have the intriguing spotting of the big five mammals that includes the lions, buffaloes, rhinos, leopards and elephants and among others like cheetahs, antelopes giraffes, and among minus forgetting the various bird species. After the morning experience you can either be driven back to your lodge and enjoy lunch or have a picnic lunch. After lunch you will be transferred back to the reserve for the afternoon game drive.
During the afternoon game drive you will explore the reserve for more experience in the afternoon if the period is during July to October you can go for a more experience to watch the annual migration on River Mara this is where you will watch various wildebeests, zebras and Thomson’s gazelles crossing the river this is an incredible spectacle watching crocodiles consuming them as their next meals, they ones that manage to cross can be waited upon by the lions as their next meals but the resilient ones survive. Optional you can go for the Maasai village tours; this is where you will go for the Maasai village tours in the reserve that offers unique cultural experience that allows you to immerse themselves in the traditional way of life of the Maasai people; that is learning about Maasai culture, traditions and customs and interact with the community. On the 14th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then meet your Kenya safari guide and then transfer for another safari experience in Naboisho conservancy that offers you unforgettable adventure that immerses you in the heart of Africa’s wonderful wildlife haven. As you venture into this private conservancy, you will be surrounded by the incredible variety of wildlife, including the Big five mammals, hyenas, cheetahs and over 200 bird species.
