Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: drive from Nairobi to Maasai Mara.
On the 1st day of your 6 days best of Kenya safari, you will start your safari with pick up in Nairobi either at your hotel in Nairobi or from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by your safari guide from African Vacation Safari who will welcome you and brief you about the safari. After briefing you will drive to Masai Mara national reserve that is 6 hours’ hour drive.
Along the way you will have the magnificent views and among others like Great Rift Valley to where you will have the perfect pictures. You will have another stopover in Narok town where you will interact with the Maasai and other locals. Your guide will drive you to Masai Mara reserve where you will check in your lodge and be served with lunch and later engage in afternoon game drive and search for wildlife species around the savannah plains like elephants, giraffes, antelopes, wildebeests, zebras, lions, leopards, rhinos among others. After your game drive, you will be driven to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: morning and afternoon game drive.
On the 2nd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your breakfast. After breakfast you will meet your safari guide and head for your morning game viewing experience in Masai Mara national reserve. And you will explore the reserve in search of the different wildlife species which are known to be spotted in the reserve such as the big five which includes lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos and rhinos among other wildlife species. And among many others like cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests and others without forgetting the bird species like African wood owl, Giant kingfisher, Rufous-throated wrynecks, Ross’s turacos, Purple grenadier and among others. After the morning game drive you will go for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for the afternoon game drive to explore a different part of Masai Mara national reserve as you watch the sunset and spectacular animal species that you missed during the morning game drive you will then return to your lodge to have your dinner and spend the night.
Day 3: Transfer from Maasai Mara to Lake Naivasha.
On the 3rd of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast, after breakfast check out from your lodge and then start of the journey to Lake Naivasha the fresh water located in northwest of Nairobi in town of Naivasha in Nakuru county; the journey takes you about 3 hr 48 minutes to 4 hours’ drive and you will reach during lunch time. Once you arrive you will check in your lodge and then be served with lunch. After lunch you will meet your safari guide and then transfer you for the afternoon boat ride, this takes you to the stunning lake to spot the attractive hippos and various bird species including kingfishers, pelicans, cormorants, fish eagles, grey-backed fiscals and among many others. After the experience you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park.
On the 4th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then enjoy your breakfast. After breakfast check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and drive to Lake Nakuru national park that takes you about 1 and 2 hours’ drive. Lake Nakuru is the rift valley freshwater lake that is found in the southern region of Nakuru and protected by Lake Nakuru national park. Lake Nakuru is known by the variety of the bird species with the famous millions of the flamingos that are attracted to the lake because of the algae. Upon your arrival you will explore the lake to where you will have the amazing sightings of the huge numbers of the flamingos, Grey crowned, Common cuckoo, Crab plovers, Yellow-billed ducks, Egptian Goose, Northern shovelers, Black-winged kites, African Harrier Hawks, European Honey buzzards, White-headed vultures, pelicans, herons and among others alongside the eastern black rhinos, white rhinos, warthogs and among many others. After the experience you will drive to your lodge and check in, after you will be served with lunch. After lunch you will transfer back to the park for the game drive in the park’s plains to spot animal species like rhinos, lions, antelopes, elands, warthogs, waterbucks, and among many others. After the experience you will transfer back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Amboseli national park.
On the 5th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your hearty breakfast, after breakfast check out from your lodge and meet your safari guide and then embark on your journey to Amboseli national park that is approximately 6 hours, through Nairobi that’s where you will have the enroute lunch in Nairobi.
After lunch you will proceed with your journey to Amboseli; and you are to reach in the park in afternoon and you will go for an afternoon game drive that will take 3 to 4 hours regarding to the location of wildlife in the open safari vehicle where you will experience wonderful and attractive wildlife in the park including the marvelous free-ranging elephants, lions, leopards, and various beautiful bird species with the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. After the game drive you will go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: En-route Morning game drive in Amboseli national park and departure.
On the last day of your safari you wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast; after breakfast you will check out from your lodge and meet your safari driver and then drive to the park for the enroute morning game drive, during this experience you will view many animals such as herds of elephants, buffaloes, lions and many more. After the game drive you will drive to Nairobi city, you will reach in Nairobi in the afternoon for lunch time. After lunch you will be dropped off either at your lodge or the Jomo Kenyatta International airport making the end of the safari.
