Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Lake Nakuru national park.
Depending on your location, on the 1st day of the safari, your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris will pick you up from either Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your hotel in Nairobi and he will welcome you and brief you about the 7 days Lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara, Serengeti and Kilimanjaro safari. After the briefing you will then start on a journey to Lake Nakuru National Park a birder’s haven with millions of flamingoes and water birds and a home to white and black rhinos.
Along the way you will enjoy views of the country side of Kenya arriving in the park in time for lunch you which you will have at your lodge after checking in, in the afternoon you will go for an afternoon game drive watching animals such as zebras, antelopes, elephants, leopards, black and white rhinos and many birds such as flamingoes, cormorants among others at the shores of Lake. After the experience you will drive back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Lake Nakuru- Maasai Mara National Reserve.
After breakfast, on the 2nd day of the safari, get up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast, check out from your lodge and meet your safari guide and then you will go for a morning game drive to spot the great early risers, then exit the park and start on a journey to Maasai Mara National Park driving through Longonot and Suswa and on to the Western walls with a stopover at Narok for re-fueling and lunch. You will arrive in time for a late afternoon game drive a perfect time for spotting the Big Five such as lions, elephants, leopards, cape buffaloes and rhinos. You will spot other wildlife that includes the zebras, hyenas, giraffes and after the game drive you will drive to the lodge for relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Full day in Maasai Mara national reserve
On the 3rd day of the safari, get up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast you will meet your safari guide and then get ready for the full day Kenya safari experience. You will spend this one full day exploring the endless plains of Maasai Mara national reserve searching for the abundant wildlife including the black manned lions, Cheetahs, leopards among others with picnic lunch served at the picnic site at Mara River. If you visit the reserve in the right time for the annual migration that is July – October, you will be able to come across vast herds of wildebeests, zebras and gazelles wandering across the Mara grasslands. After the full day in Maasai Mara national reserve you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Serengeti national park.
On the 4th of the safari, wake up early in the morning and be served with breakfast, after the breakfast you will checkout from your lodge, and meet your safari guide for the transfer to Serengeti National Park. As you start on the journey from Maasai Mara National Reserve you will pass through a diverse range of landscapes and attractions that offer an experience into the rich cultural and natural heritage of Tanzania and Kenya. Departing from Maasai Mara you will initially drive through the rolling hills and grasslands of the Mara ecosystem, before crossing into Tanzania at the Isebenia-Sirari border; this is where your safari guide from Tanzania will pick up and then proceed with your journey. From there you will drive through the town of Tarime, a bustling commercial center that’s is a home to the Sukuma people, you will proceed with your journey through the Grumeti Game reserve, that is a home of the elephants, giraffes, antelopes and others. Along the way you will have the enroute lunch and after lunch you will proceed with your journey; until you reach the park.
When you reach the park you will go for the afternoon game drive; where you will spot various numbers like lions, leopards, cheetahs around the Seronera Valley which is a wildlife hub. The Kopjes a series of granite outcrops that provide a vantage point for spotting predators and prey, and the endless plains a seemingly boundless expanse of grasslands that are home to the massive herds of wildebeests, zebras and antelopes offers breathtaking views and the unforgettable wildlife encounters. After the experience you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 5: Full day in Serengeti national park.
On the 5 day of the safari, get up early in the morning and enjoy the delicious breakfast, with your packed lunch you will meet your safari guide and go to the park for the full day experience. This day offers you unforgettable adventure that allows you to immerse yourself in the park’s stunning landscapes and the incredible wildlife, and explore many of the hidden secret places. During the morning you will have the optional of the hot air balloon experience to explore the park from above, as you are spotting the early risers such as lions, hyenas, leopards and others as they start their day, as the morning wears on, you will head to the in the center of Serengeti where you will spot the big five mammals that includes the lions, buffaloes, rhinos, leopard and elephants roam and the grasslands provide a habitat for the incredible variety of wildlife. After the hot air balloon experience you will enjoy the champagne breakfast and later you will go for the game drive for more experience and then later you will go for your picnic lunch.
After the picnic lunch, you will continues your exploration of the park visiting the kopjes, as series of the rocky outcrops that offer stunning views of the surrounding plans, and the Retina Hippo pool, where you can watch the hippos wallowing in the shallow waters, before ending the day with the sunset game drive. After the experience you will be transferred back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation an overnight stay.
Day 6: Morning game drive and transfer to Kilimanjaro.
On the 6th day of the safari wake up early in the morning and take breakfast. After breakfast you will check out from your lodge and meet your safari guide and then go to the park for the morning game drive to spot the incredible early raisers, after the game drive you will drive to Kilimanjaro and upon your arrival you will check in and be served with lunch. After lunch you will transfer for Marangu hiking also known as ‘’Coca-Cola Route’’ to where you will spot various wildlife including monkeys, various birds, and various flora and mazing views of Mount Kilimanjaro. After the experience you will drive to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 7: Half hiking Mount Kilimanjaro and Departure.
On the last day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and take breakfast. After breakfast, meet your safari guide and then transfer for half hiking safari to explore the incredible features of Mount Kilimanjaro that are such stunning and eye catching. After the experience you will come back to the lodge and take lunch. After lunch you will check out from your lodge and your safari guide will transfer you to Arusha that will make your safari come to the end.
