Detailed Itinerary of 4 Day Greater Kruger Safari in Big 5 Balule Game Reserve

Day 1: Johannesburg to Balule National Reserve

On arrival at the airport in Johannesburg or after breakfast at your hotel, you will meet an African Vacation Safaris Representative – your private driver guide and embark on a scenic drive to Balule National Reserve. On arrival at your safari camp, you will check in, freshen up and have a short rest.

You will stay at Balule Safari Camp with accommodation offered in tented style rooms, en-suite with baths and outdoor showers as well as small private viewing decks for an authentic safari experience. The camp’s main lodge area boasts a viewing deck with boma fireplace and pool which overlooks a waterhole in front of the lodge.

In the afternoon, climb aboard an open 4×4 safari vehicle for your first game drive. Along the way you will stop for sundowners and enjoy a true African sunset before starting the night game drive back to the lodge. The night game drive offers an opportunity to spot more elusive nocturnal animals.  You will be back at your campsite in time for dinner on the deck under the African sky.

Day 2-3: On safari in Balule National Reserve

Wake up at sunrise, enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee before embarking on your morning safari. From your open sided safari vehicle, you can spot various wildlife such as the cheetah, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffaloes among others.

Later, you will be driven back to the camp for a delicious breakfast. Spend the rest of the afternoon at relaxation and have a siesta, read a book or laze by the pool on the main deck. Take a warm jacket and head out on an evening game drive, ending with sundowner drinks overlooking gorgeous views in the bush. Drive back to the lodge, enjoy traditional meals and dine under the African sky.

Day 4: Balule Game Reserve to Johannesburg

Today is your final day of your South African Safari. This morning you will enjoy a final game viewing excursion, a hot breakfast before checking out. Embark on a road transfer taking you back to Johannesburg via Hoedspruit, arriving between 18h00 and 18h30

You will be dropped off either at your hotel in Johannesburg or at the airport to catch your flight back home or to your next destination.
